Would you like to get more involved in your community?

Volunteering is a rewarding way to connect with others and contribute to the life of the community. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us! We can discuss together what volunteering positions are currently available and go through the application process.

Newbridge Family Resource Centre has a large and experienced team of volunteers. We rely on the support of volunteers to help run activities, events, and programmes. We are committed to the ongoing development of the role of volunteers within the organisation. We realise that people volunteer for different reasons including: a personal interest in the family resource centre, a wish to contribute something back to the community, or an interest in developing new skills. Whatever your motivation may be, we are committed to ensuring that your volunteering experience will be a pleasant and positive one.

If you have an area of expertise that you would like to share please get in touch! In the past, we have had volunteers working in the centre, facilitating courses such as healthy living, computers for beginners, yoga, sewing and singing etc. Contact us to discuss what you would like to offer.

Some volunteer opportunities include:

Homework Club

Youth Club

Summer Camp

Fundraising events

Poly tunnel and Sensory Garden maintenance

Facilitation/Training

and more!

We would love to find some volunteers to help us with the Poly tunnel and Sensory Garden as the weather improves.
Volunteers can get involved in growing fresh fruit and vegetables, planting, watering, and helping maintain our sensory garden so it remains a welcoming and relaxing space for everyone.

No gardening experience is necessary—just a willingness to lend a hand and enjoy spending time outdoors. Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, learn new skills, and support a project that benefits the whole community. Whether you can give a little time or a lot, your help would be greatly appreciated. 🌱🌼

Please contact us for more information if you are interested!

Work Experience Placements

We also offer work experience placements for students and individuals who would like to gain practical skills in a community setting. Placements provide valuable hands-on experience, insight into how a community centre operates, and the opportunity to develop confidence and teamwork skills. Please contact us for more information.

Relevant areas include:

Childcare

Community Work / Development

Office Administration / Reception / IT

Please note, we do have a high demand for work experience placements, so we have a waiting list system in operation.
